Human Rights

Being an “advocate” means becoming a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. As Christians we are called to advocate for the rights of who cannot fight for themselves. Christ is our advocate to God the Father, and throughout the Scriptures we are commanded to advocate for those who are being abused and exploited.

That is why Antioch Church believes in the necessity of advocating for the rights of those who are being mistreated in our own country, and even in our own state. We have the good fortune of living in a place where there is a system for us to express what we want our government to do for us, then having that opinion represented amongst the leadership of our state and country by our elected official. We simply must take advantage of this system on behalf of those who are exploited. Our human rights department strives to make standing up for the rights of the abused and exploited amongst us as easy as possible.
